The 9A51P is an advanced AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) battery that is manufactured with a "penicl post" style battery terminal that is typically found hybrid vehicles including the Toyota Prius.

VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) Battery

Because the 9A51P is an AGM battery it requires special pressurized valves to work properly. The special relief valve system effectively controls critical internal gas pressure preventing gas seepage or air contamination - which can cause premature battery failure in inferior AGM batteries.
